چکیده

The use of freshwater invertebrates for biomonitoring has been increasing several decades, but little is known about relations between external exposure concentration metals and their biodistribution among different tissues. One multi-compartments toxicokinetic (TK) models are powerful tools to formalize predict how a contaminant bioaccumulated. aim this study develop modeling approaches improve knowledge on dynamic accumulation fate Cd Hg in gammarid’s organs. Gammarids were exposed dissolved (11.1 ± 1.2 µg.L−1 or 0.27 0.13 Hg) before depuration phase. At each sampling days, organs (caeca, cephalon, intestine remaining tissues) separated by dissection analyses. Results allowed us determine that i) G. fossarum takes up as efficiently the mussel M. galloprovincialis, eliminates it more rapidly, ii) which accumulate depurate most, terms concentrations, caeca both metals; iii) one-compartment TK most relevant Hg, while model allows better fit data, demonstrating transfer

Ovary and embryo proteogenomic dataset revealing diversity of vitellogenins in the crustacean Gammarus fossarum

Ovaries and embryos from sexually mature Gammarus fossarum were sampled at different stages of the reproductive cycle. The soluble proteome was extracted for five biological replicates and samples were subjected to trypsin digestion. The resulting peptides were analyzed by high resolution tandem mass spectrometry with a LTQ-Orbitrap XL instrument. The MS/MS spectra were assigned with a previous...

Influence of Molting and Starvation on Digestive Enzyme Activities and Energy Storage in Gammarus fossarum

Among the many biological responses studied in ecotoxicology, energy-based biomarkers such as digestive enzyme activities and energy reserves appear to be useful predictive tools for detecting physiological disturbances in organisms. However, the use of these biological responses as biomarkers could be limited by the effects of confounding factors (biotic and abiotic) and physiological processe...

investigation of single-user and multi-user detection methods in mc-cdma systems and comparison of their performances

epigean) crustacean Gammarus fossarum acclimated to 12°C, 3°C and –2°C. With decreasing temperature, G. fossarum significantly increased its alanine and glutamine

The capacity to survive a temporary or permanent cold environment is a crucial challenge for ectotherms. Many physiological and biochemical mechanisms are known to extend the survival of freeze-susceptible species at subzero temperatures by avoiding injuries induced by the formation of ice crystals in tissues (Zachariassen, 2000). However, low but positive temperatures may also induce severe da...
